The Season of Broken Hearts and Warm Ass Weather

Oh wow. About 3 months since I've last updizzled. Holly fail to the max, ya'll.

What's been happening...

-Been doing a lot at Toast...but been feeling neglected and less like part of a team. Bad.
-Been super poor. Also bad.
-Been dumped. Very bad.
-Been deprived of internet in my house. Super bad.
-Been feeling super sorry for myself and not knowing what to do with my life. UBER BAD.

But do not fear, good people! The weather is warm and I love Bristol and that's given me the motivation to sort myself out. I've got lovely friends and a wicked awesome mother who has passed down some amazing "I don't give a fuck" genes ;D I've allowed myself a week to feel sorry for myself and now it's time to buckle down and figure out what I want to do with my shiny new visa.

Shall I move off to London or Birmingham and be a proper fashiony drone oooooor stay in Bristol and enjoy being fancy can carefree and attempt to start a business with some carefully selected friends?! I may have to choose the former instead of the latter because I gots bills to pay!

Oh my, it does seem that the majority of my friends have been having the same problems as me though. Heartbreak, general confusion about life, being poor. Damn. Post uni life isn't that amazing though is it?

Alas, it's spring and I'm doing my own personal spring cleaning go get all them cobwebs out of my self conscious and all up out of my life. I've been sending out loads of CVs for a nice new pattern cutting job and I've already got a call back from a recruitment agency saying they're going to forward my CV to the company. Fingers crossed!!

A word of advice to my readers and friends - Shit gets real and ugly, but only the weak don't get used to it!! DEAL.

Time to be fearless and fancy free. ;D

Holidaaaays

Hello hello.

How you all had a Merry Christmas and a kickass New Year! My Christmas holidays consisted of excessive shifts at the Hippodrome and having this years pantomime, Dick Whittington, drilled into my brain, but it was alriiiight! I enjoyed every shift - the people that I work with are so lovely. :)

My sketchbook was touched a total of four times over the past two weeks:
1. To put it in my bag
2. To take it out of my bag
3. To work on it on boxing day (minimally, I might add)
4. To put it back in my bag

I also told myself I won't make any resolutions this year because I rarely keep them, let alone remember them a week down the line so I'm going to share with you my er...own personal accomplishments over the last year!

1. I've become more comfortable with myself! The shyness is slowly going and I feel my ever-surpressed true self coming out more and more each day.
2. I've found something different and more interesting to do with my hair. Yay curls! Bye straight hair styles!
3. I'm (mostly..?) fully supporting myself this year. No rollover loan money this year - just good old fashioned working!
4. I've met a crapload of new people which is great! And I've also managed to still spent time (even though its so little nowadays!) with my old ones.
5. I've managed to lose a bit of weight without thinking about it! Yippee!

Yep that's about it. =D I am proud! Now to focus again and do this final collection - although to be perfectly honest, I don't have much to show for tomorrow's tutorial. My bad. :)

Deuces!

Whoa-hoooa. A Month down the line

See how easy it is to get swamped with work and life? SEE?! Absolutely swamped and quite drained and all we had to do was one outfit. One. Just one stupid outfit. It really puts everything into perspective when you get your new brief for the real thing.

Life's been like a whirlwind of crap lately. We had terrible news last week about one of our coursemates causing our assessment to be postponed and a serious funk went around uni. No one went in really and when they did, the mood was off. Just nuts really...but I managed to have Thanksgiving to kind of cheer the mood up a bit. I cooked and cooked and I managed to feed a good bunch of people. They seemed to enjoy it as well so that was brilliant. Should have dinner parties more often. I had another Thanksgiving as well on Saturday which was even more of a success because I fed even more people and made a good chunk of money (which I won't be able to use because away it goes to rent...)

Anyhoozle, it's been difficult getting back into the swing of things. I keep wishing for snow because I got my first taste of first snowfall of the season on Saturday. Stacey and I were properly excited and kept staring out the window going "It's snowing! .....It's still snowing! ....It's snowing more! ....It stopped >:( " It snowed this morning too. It was so exciting!!

Ahem, now back to this whole fashiony side of my life again. I finished my jacket and annihilated my trousers, but together it looks quite nice. I managed to fit the outfit to my good buddy Horigan and it looked quite nice to be honest. Toile that is...I haven't had a chance to try the final thing on him yet, and I wont find out until tomorrow as well. I don't know if he can make it in time or if it will snow even. Please please snow! I'm ready for this assessment but at the same time I just want it to be over and done with. Totally tired of seeing everything I've worked on in the past 2 months. Lame.

Now to consume some more mulled wine and sort out the research for my final collection. At the minute Stacey, Slawa and I are sorting out a critical path so there is no way any of us will fall behind over the next few months. I will be so organized that it will hurt me. Promise.

RIP Melissa Smith. Love and miss you, girl. This year's for you!

Day off

Ooo how naughty I am. I'm playing hookie and staying home today. =D So are Slawa and Stacey so it's all good in the hood.

I'm gonna clean my room and then do some serious work. And maybe make some flapjacks. x
